In approximately 1962 a group of villagers decided to hold a Show and Sales to raise funds , initally for a party at Chirstmas for the children of the village of Wrestlingworth. Orginally it was named the Chequers Welfare, but was soon renamed as the Wrestlingworth Goodwill Fund.
In 1994 after over 30 years of providing support in Wrestlingworth, Cockayne Hatley, Eyeworth and Tadlow red tape meant that the Goodwill Fund had to register with the Charities Commission, which took about a year to achieve. Over the years the Goodwill Fund has provided a transport service to residents who are unable otherwise to get to local hospitals and doctors this is only possible due to a small band of wonderful volunteers.
